Here we want to offer you a small guide of tipical products and food of Peru. We also want to show the world, some natural products who grow in Peruvian soil, wich in many cases, are use to cure some medical problems.
Camu-camu is a native species of Peruvian amazonia , that grows in
wild form in the alluvial grounds that are flooded during the time of
rains. This fruit tree amazonian is deserving more and more attention
for the very high content of vitamin C which it contains, that reaches at
2.700 mg by 100g of pulp, which is equivalent to almost 40 times
one orange pulp. In addition it
contains tiamina, riboflavina,
niacina and is rich in bioflavonoides.
Distribution:
Camu camu grows of natural way in the borders of the rivers, cochas and smaller courses of water in the Amazonía. Its natural distribution indicates that the greater concentration of populations and diversity is in the Peruvian Amazonía, along the rivers Ucayali and Amazon between the localities of Pucallpa and Pebas.
Properties
It contains ascórbico Acid, 63 times superior to the one of the lemon, Beta-carotene, Calcium, Iron, Niacina, Phosphorus, Proteins, Riblofavina and Tiamina.
Like natural Vitamin C, it favors the formation of the colágeno, can stimulate the natural defenses of the organism and takes part in the absorption of the iron coming from foods of vegetal origin.
